Golf & Activities

FIA Golf Tournament
Sunday, April 30
Los Verdes Golf Course
Tee times begin at 11:30 a.m.
Fee: $129
(includes greens fee, cart, boxed lunch and drink tickets, and prizes for contest winners; rental clubs may be reserved for $30)

Los Verdes Golf Course is a beautiful, Billy Bell-designed course that offers some of the best ocean views in California. Sitting above the cliffs of Rancho Palos Verdes, the course’s proximity to the ocean makes putting a real challenge on nearly every hole.

Once registered, visit forging.org/golf to join a foursome or create your own. Tee times will be assigned. Players who have not joined a foursome by April 14 will be assigned to a group by FIA staff. Golf fees are non-refundable.

Los Verdes Golf Course is located at 7000 Los Verdes Drive in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Players are responsible for transporting themselves to the course prior to their assigned tee time.

Rental clubs are available for $30. Rental clubs must be reserved and paid for in advance to ensure availability. Players who bring their own clubs are responsible for transporting them to the course.

Optional Activity 1: Guided Coastal & Nature Preserve Hike
Sunday, April 30
12:30–3:00 p.m.
Fee: $149 (includes lunch)

This guided hike stops at a variety of nature viewing points in and around the Terranea Resort. While walking among the coastal sage, participants may spot California gnatcatchers, Allen’s hummingbirds, and other plants and animals native to Southern California. Comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, and hats are recommended.

Optional Activity 2: Falconry at Terranea
Monday, May 1
3:00–4:00 p.m.
Fee: $129

Terranea introduced its falconry program in 2009 to provide eco-friendly, non-lethal control of its large seagull population. Since then, its team of gyrfalcons, peregrine falcons, Harris’s hawks, and Eurasian eagle owls has established ownership of the property without the need to attack. Participants in this activity will view a flight demonstration and learn what makes these birds so effective.

Optional Activity 3: Ocean Kayaking
Monday, May 1
3:00–5:00 p.m.
Fee: $149

Experience stunning kelp beds full of marine life including bottlenose dolphins, sea lions, leopard sharks and bat rays, all while paddling through the Catalina Channel’s famous underwater reserve. This certified guided tour is conducted on stable sit-on-top tandem kayaks, and includes a lesson and all necessary equipment. This is a moderately physical activity, and you must be a proficient swimmer.

Spouse Breakfast & Yoga Session
Monday, May 1
9:00–11:00 a.m.

Join fellow FIA spouses for breakfast before moving outside for a relaxing yoga session. Prior yoga experience is not required for this session.
